Have at it! this post is to accept all comments about the hideous sewer wars.
My friend Ron, has turned off the comment section of his blog and I don't blame him.
He takes his writing seriously, I can understand that.
When you write a blog, you are putting it out there.

Me? I'm a car mechanic.

I have no pretense of writing skills

But I do have a weird sense of humor that some people seem to apreciate.

So what I thought would be amusing is to let the insane run the asylum

What is your most insane solution to the Los Osos wastewater problem?

Mine, is to give all our houses back to the Chumash

Imagine the great casino sitting on top of the underground sewer on the Tri W site with ample parking too

Of course, I would like a 1 dollar a year renewable and transferable lease.

Maybe the solution is a lot of psychiatric help for people who thinking putting Los Osos' poop in someone elses back yard is fair, and that smelly ponds on the way into town is a lovely way to welcome our guests (Tri-W was to be odor controlled), and that the "special people" who live in Los Osos should never have to pay to take care of their own mess.

Me? I think I'll see if Al's Septic is going public and I can buy stock. Sadly, this mess isn't going away anytime soon...

I want:
Oprah to interview Briggs.
A mass baptism of the faithful in Lake Pandora, before it is returned to the Chumash. Broderson site to become "Toby (Buffalo) Sacher Memorial No Sprawl Zone".
A $165 million dollar public works project that redetaches Morro Rock from the mainland making it flush all natural and historic like again.
This results in:
Briggs breaks down on Oprah crying "Mommy, momeee."
A Floating Indian Casino on Tri W site pays the now incorperated Los Osos lots of Skrill.
Hippies camping overnight at Sacher memorial can provide a modest commerce from Gawking tourists and reformed state flunkies.
Historic natural tidal flow is restored to Morro Bay, reducing all Dissovled solids and micro buggies. Volunteer samplers test & find cleaner water samples. State board gets pissed and sents REAL water chemists & find same results. Sewer then goes back to drawing board as a plan to provide adequate storm drainage for the town. Like real sewer systems often provide...
Al Barrow and Joyce Albright decide go on retreat together. At their depature, Our Town begins healing in their shared relief. Crawford & Calhoun become nationally celebrated blogger/columnists as Oprah continues her investigation into The "California Sewer War" with her 2 hour special interview with them.

I highly doubt that the Tri-W site would have been odor-controlled.

Remember Donna in the Dreamer world, everything the past board did was true, honest & without flaw. Everythig else said about their beloved Tri W project, are lies, deserving punishment and vengence. American democratic values be damned, there is bad science and draconian edicts to be served. All hail the Nitrate scale! Oh, don't touch their martyrs either, the saintly CSD 3.

Bad Dog! Bad Dog!
Al and Joyce ?!
HA HA HA!
Good One!

OK, here is another,

Its revealed through never before released documents that the "Water Gods" wanted individual on site development to begin imediatley four or five years ago.
An FBI investigation finds a collusion between certain members of the CSD board and the "Water Gods which would have benifited them greatly.
They were found to be buying septic pump trucks with their ill gotten gains.
Their entire fleet is confiscated by the state for evidence.
The resulting lawsuit finds the State and watergods liable for the damage done to Los Osos.
In the settlement every property owner is given their own septic pump truck!

You got to admit it would make that morning commute to SLO a little more interesting.

Speaking of investing ... do we know whether any of our current boardmembers or their buddies (Gail, Richard and Dan) are investing in pumping trucks or investing in a company which will bid on TriW and other sites which will be worth a lot of money as soon as a sewer and WWTF go in?

I don't know too much about this stuff (investing), but I would imagine that if they have plans of making a mint they could easily do so with this sort of scheme ... there will be some $40M worth of pumping fees out there until 2010 and afterwards the pumping requirements for our community will go up tenfold.

On the property issue, a large speculation firm could easily buy up lots of vacant lots today because once the sewer is in place, the lots could be deveveloped (and will be) by ... um ... the wealthy. Such a firm would find it attractive to buy up quite a few of the rental properties which will be taken off the market and even the homes of those forced to sell at a loss.

Such a firm could wait it out, paying no fines, until the sewer is completed then sell at a huge profit.

Are we sure that Gail's concern for the poor of our community is real? Do we know that this whole scheme isn't a scheme by Julie to make money by forcing some to sell at a loss?

Now, I really don't believe that any of our local "move the sewer" advocates are going to profit from this individually, but I do believe they've opened the door to investors in a way that will benefit some already rich people. If they've been taking advice from someone who will individually profit from the votes they're casting it should bother us all.

I oppose this board's actions pretty much all the time thesedays, but if I were an investor or involved in Real Estate (hmmm... are any of this board's advisors involved in Real Estate?) I would certainly want to take advantage of the opportunity.

Nope, this board is not concerned one bit with the good of the residents of our little town. They only seem to care about moving the sewer ... even if it costs so much that half of the community will have to move out. This board doesn't care about you, Mike, they care about sticking it to Stan and Pandora. They don't give a rip who they hurt as long as they get their own way.

As an example of my point I would suggest their decision to list TriW for sale and to not include TriW in the RFP to study alternatives. They claim that Measure B precludes TriW from being the location of the WWTF. I would argue that until a judge confirms such a claim it would be prudent to include TriW in any cost and environmental assessment comparrison of the various sites. To keep TriW off the table now is to invite another round of lawsuits and questions from the CCC, County and RWQCB if a portion of Measure B is thrown out.

Nope, the only reason to not includ TriW in the study and the only reason to list it for sale is to put up more and more roadblocks to using that site for the WWTF even if it appears to be best to the rest of the community.

After all, doesn't even Ann argue that we should gather all the information and let the people vote? What excuse does this board have for refusing to even gather information ... what excuse do they have for attempting to sell the property before any people get to vote?

The only possible explanation is that they care more about getting their way, sticking it to Stan and moving the plant than they care about our pocketbooks and what we want.

One more thing ... if Lisa is going to use her postion as president to spread propaganda (which is pretty much what her powerpoint presentation was), she should be called on it by Crizer and others. If she resents these individuals stating their opinion so much that she reacts in anger she is no better than our buddy Richard who had the same problem. If she can't take other people criticizing her opinions she shouldn't have run for the office.

Note: in case you can't tell, last night's meeting made me angry. Please ingnore any obvious rantings and pay attention more to the substance of my points.

Ah Sharkey, Thanks for joining us!
As usual you display an impressive understanding of facts and laws.
You are lacking in one spot of understanding that I'm not sure anyone will ever get you to see.
Nasty Dirty Unfair Politics
Also, you didn't follow my instructions about this comment session, Dont worry, I'm happy you took the time anyway.

P.S. I was the last caller on the Dave Congleton show tonight, He had Sam Blaksley on.
I thanked him for going to bat for us,
Which he thanked me for,
Then I asked him to tell everybody why it failed.

The muddled and confused and sputtering reply was pretty funny.
Anyone else catch it?

To be fair to Sam, it was the end of the show.
I wish I could get a copy, I was listening during and after on a bad clock radio because I got home just in time to make the call,
A lot about not wanting to call people bad things if I remember.
And that he was going to "look into it next year"
Yea, Right Sam, aint had enough of that third rail yet?
Welcome to Los Osos!

Mike,

You note you are a mechanic. Supposing I want you to fix my car ... where should I take it?

On other matters ... I do understand nasty dirty unfair politics. I just wish people in *my* community would value each other and the process more than winning. This goes for all sides in this whole sewer mess, dating back to the 1990s, anyways.

I understand that when you are in power you have some leverage over the rules. What bothers me most here is that after the recall Lisa told us that she would be different, that she would respect people, even those she disagreed with. Admittedly Crizer is a party to a lawsuit against the district, but his comment was a valid one and just because Lisa is tired of people telling her that "this board doesn't have a plan" doesn't mean that she gets to go off on them. As several speakers (I think the new guy named Baltimore is one) pointed out, this CSD's conceptual idea about having an out of town plant is far from a plan in the minds of many. It took the previous CSD some seven years to get from exactly such a conceptual plan to the start of construction.

You are right about Sam. I am pretty sure that a junior legislator (hell, in these days of term limits, any legislator) won't have enough pull with anyone in the bureaucracy that is state government to get anything done. It would take an act of the governator or perhaps a threat to cut funding to some pet project of the SWRCB from Don Perata to make them listen.

It is fair to say that we are pretty much hosed. Like I said to Ann, if someone has just been kicked repeatedly (by the old board) it would seem the solution isn't to kick him harder (new board).

Sharkey, I think I'll leave my day job out of this.
It wouldn't take much effort to find me.
You could call almost any shop in the area that works on european cars.
What kind of car dose a shark drive anyway?

90s Dodge minivan and/or 90s Nissan Sentra ... depends on the day of week and time of day.

Suppose you were to suggest a shop that would service the kind of cars I drive (I'm not really happy with those I've frequented for a variety of reasons I'll not go into now) ... where would you suggest I would find the best work for the money among all those shops in LO, MB and SLO?
